{"id":674,"date":"2021-04-21T05:27:56","date_gmt":"2021-04-21T05:27:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bcisnotes.com\/fourthsemester\/?p=674"},"modified":"2021-04-21T05:27:56","modified_gmt":"2021-04-21T05:27:56","slug":"introduction-to-css-html-css-bcis-notes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bcisnotes.com\/fourthsemester\/introduction-to-css-html-css-bcis-notes\/","title":{"rendered":"Introduction to CSS || HTML\/CSS || BCIS Notes"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1 style=\"text-align: center;\">Introduction to CSS<\/h1>\n<p><strong>Cascading Style Sheets (CSS)\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0is used to format the layout of a webpage.<\/p>\n<p>While HTML is used to structure a web document (defining things like headlines and paragraphs and allowing you to embed images, video, and other media), it comes through and specifies your document\u2019s style\u2014page layouts, colors, and fonts.<\/p>\n<p>With this, you can control the color, font, size of text, spacing between elements, how elements are positioned and laid out, what background images or background colors are to be used, different displays for different devices and screen sizes, and much more!<\/p>\n<p>It can be added to HTML documents in 3 ways:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Inline<\/strong>\u00a0&#8211; by using the\u00a0<code class=\"w3-codespan\">style<\/code> attribute inside HTML elements<\/li>\n<li><strong>Internal<\/strong>\u00a0&#8211; by using a\u00a0<code class=\"w3-codespan\">&lt;style&gt;<\/code>\u00a0element in the\u00a0<code class=\"w3-codespan\">&lt;head&gt;<\/code>\u00a0section<\/li>\n<li><strong>External<\/strong>\u00a0&#8211; by using a\u00a0<code class=\"w3-codespan\">&lt;link&gt;<\/code>\u00a0element to link to an external CSS file<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><strong>1. Inline CSS<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>An inline is used to apply a unique style to a single HTML element.<\/p>\n<p>It uses the <code class=\"w3-codespan\">style<\/code> the attribute of an HTML element.<\/p>\n<p>The following example sets the text color of the\u00a0<code class=\"w3-codespan\">&lt;h1&gt;<\/code>\u00a0element to blue, and the text color of the\u00a0<code class=\"w3-codespan\">&lt;p&gt;<\/code>\u00a0element to red:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-8166\" src=\"https:\/\/www.onlinenotesnepal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/Screen-Shot-2021-03-30-at-4.11.39-PM.png\" alt=\"Inline CSS\" width=\"573\" height=\"49\" \/><\/p>\n<h3><strong>2. Internal CSS<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>An internal CSS is used to define a style for a single HTML page.<\/p>\n<p>An internal CSS is defined in the\u00a0<code class=\"w3-codespan\">&lt;head&gt;<\/code>\u00a0section of an HTML page, within a\u00a0<code class=\"w3-codespan\">&lt;style&gt;<\/code>\u00a0element.<\/p>\n<p>The following example sets the text color of ALL the\u00a0<code class=\"w3-codespan\">&lt;h1&gt;<\/code>\u00a0elements (on that page) to blue, and the text color of ALL the\u00a0<code class=\"w3-codespan\">&lt;p&gt;<\/code>\u00a0elements to red. In addition, the page will be displayed with a &#8220;powderblue&#8221; background color:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-8167\" src=\"https:\/\/www.onlinenotesnepal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/Screen-Shot-2021-03-30-at-4.13.03-PM.png\" alt=\"Internal CSS\" width=\"571\" height=\"240\" \/><\/p>\n<h3><strong>3. External CSS<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>An external style sheet is used to define the style for many HTML pages.<\/p>\n<p>The external style sheet can be written in any text editor.
